On Monday (October 23), the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) issued a strong statement denying allegations of “internal discord” and animosity within the Pakistan team currently engaged in ICC World Cup 2023 playing duties.
As they approached their third consecutive loss in the ongoing tournament, PCB dismissed reports and speculations of a schism in the Babar Azam-led outfit. With Pakistan losing badly to archrivals India, Australia, and Afghanistan, there was talk of tension and individual clashes within the dressing room, reports Live Cricket Score.
On the other hand, the cricket board refuted all of those allegations. It stated that the atmosphere within the team is perfectly cordial and relaxed, even as Babar and the rest of the team continue to face significant heat and pressure for their consecutive losses.
In what will be remembered as one of the most memorable upsets in World Cup history, Pakistan were brought to their knees by a spirited Afghanistan side in Chennai. The mighty Indians and Australians had previously exposed the Asian giants’ long-standing flaws and lack of proper quality and depth in either department.
