Former India wicketkeeper Kiran More while taking on The Greatest Rivalry podcast said that Sunil Gavaskar had a different playing style on the ground compared to that of at nets. Kiran has revealed his experiences with Gavaskar when both of them played together for four years in Indian team.
Gavaskar had a quite contradictory playing style in the test tournaments and the former wicket-keeper observes this as an amazing play when compared to the below par practice in nets. Gavaskar is known to be the first player to score 10000 Test runs in cricket history. He totally scored 10,122 runs in 125 matches including 34 centuries.
Kiran More said that Gavaskar used to struggle in the nets, however his performances at the crease were just so watchful. More further added that Gavaskar used to never like practising in the nets. Despite his ignorance in the nets, when he goes and bats in a Test match it’s 99.9 per cent different, More said.
