Jasprit Bumrah to be on BCCI’s nominee list for Arjuna Award

The Board of Cricket Council India (BCCI) picks candidates every year for proposing them to be the nominees of Arjuna Award. The government of India analyses and announces the best fit for the year under sports category by awarding them Arjuna Awards with few rules being met by the players.

India’s pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah might have a place in the nominee’s list this year too, said BCCI. It was expected to see him win in the last year’s award but wasn’t picked for not accomplishing the criteria of at least 3 years in international cricket.

So BCCI might give 26-year old Bumrah a chance this year by nominating him for the Arjuna Award, as he has been into the team for 3 years now. Besides, the Indian left-handed opener batsman Shikhan Dhawan might also be included in the list of nominees.

The BCCI named Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, and Mohammed Shami in last year’s men’s list of Arjuna Award nominees. But it was Ravindra Jadeja who won it.
