While the talks related to IPL have been at peaks after the uncertainty in schedule ends up, a 53 day window has been planned. The IPL governing council which met on 02 August (Sunday) has announced a schedule for IPL starting from September 19 and final to take place on November 10, in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Given the approval by the sports ministry, the franchises of IPL will be flying to UAE once the confirmation from union home ministry is cleared. The plan is to conduct IPL in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. Initially the venues in Pune, Rajkot, Ahmedabad and Vadodara were in planning for IPL. However, with the growing covid-19 cases, the tournament is shifted to UAE.
A usual 49-day window is now getting replaced with a 53-days plan to restrict 2 matches each day. With the new plan coming in place, still there are 10 days that will witness 2 matches per day in a 53-day window. The night matches are planned to take place from 6pm local time (7.30pm IST), but the decision of BCCI, and UAE cricket board will set the final schedule.
