The International Cricket Council (ICC) that met on May 28 for discussion on future cricket activities has not yet decided about the T20 WC. ICC is scheduled to meet on June 10 and announce a decision on commencement of the T20 World Cup that’s actually setup in Oct-Nov 2020, in Australia.
Also, the highest board of cricket ICC is concerned about breach of information confidentiality. So it set up an investigation led by the Ethics officer of ICC to report the updates in the next meeting.
In view of the ongoing coronavirus crisis, ICC didn’t finalize anything related to the future tournaments including World Cup T20. On the other hand, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is looking to fill the slot of Oct-Nov 2020 with the Indian Premier League, in case the World Cup is postponed to a later date for next year.
The unofficial announcement from Cricket Australia (CA) is likely to see a WC the next year as the chances are less for the actual schedule due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. Also, CA has released its calendar for the other tournaments during 2020-21 that include test series in the Dec-Jan season.
