Delhi Capitals have signed contract with fast bowler Anrich Nortje as a replacement for Chris Woakes ahead of IPL 2020. Woakes isn’t participating in IPL 2020 to keep himself fit & ready for the English summer, but won’t be able to join the team even in the post-pandemic schedule shuffle after being replaced. Delhi’s INR 1.5 crore fees at the auction is also expecting a baby in September.
Nortje was signed up Kolkata Knight Riders for the 2019 edition before a shoulder injury ruled him out of a maiden appearance in the IPL. Nortje has subsequently suffered a freak thumb injury and missed the 2019 World Cup as well.
