Just before the Asia Cup in Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Afghanistan will square off against one another in a three-match ODI series. Both the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have confirmed the development. The three games will be held in Sri Lanka, where the Asia Cup will be held for the most part.
The three games will be held in Hambantota and Colombo on August 22, 24, and 26, with the Asia Cup due to begin on August 30. Due to their scheduled encounter against Nepal in Multan as the opening game of the Asia Cup, Pakistan has a short turnaround time. Yet, based on the PCB statement, it will be a great way to get the Men in Green ready, reports Live Cricket Score.
In an official announcement, PCB stated that “Babar Azam’s team would have three opportunities to hone their combinations before of the 50-over ACC Men’s Asia Cup” After defeating Bangladesh 2-1 in an away ODI, Afghanistan Cricket Board Chairman Mr. Mirwais Ashraf is also confident in his team’s performance. Also, he thinks that the matchup with Pakistan will serve as valuable practice for the team’s appearance in the Asia Cup and, subsequently, the World Cup.
