Afghanistan has named uncapped all-rounder Abdul Rahman for the three-match One-Day International series in Sri Lanka, which begins on June 2. Rahman, 21, who bowls right-arm medium-fast, makes the squad after a strong showing in the Green Afghanistan One-Day Cup for Hindukush Strikers, where he returned two half-centuries and seven wickets in his last five List A games.
The 15-man squad, led by Hashmatullah Shahidi, also includes a strong spin contingent, including Rashid Khan, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, and Noor Ahmad, who will all be looking forward to honing their 50-over skills ahead of the World Cup in India.
Afghanistan has qualified directly for the World Cup, whereas Sri Lanka must go through the qualification round. All three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan will be played in Hambantota.
