New phase in Commentary expected for IPL 2020- To be working from home

With the world progressing towards digitization and covid-19 bringing in the social distancing measures, Cricket is witnessing a totally different phase. As the ICC panel has recently postponed the World Cup tour, this allowed BCCI to think of the IPL schedule. The indefinitely postponed big league since March this year is heading to come into limelight.

However, the plan for venues of this year’s IPL that might take place in Oct-Nov is still uncertain. If it’s getting fixed in the UAE, what would be the plan of commentary is the new concern. The new plans running in for commentary is the virtual way that is expected to be successful. Let’s take a look at how it works.

The recently experimented remote commentary which is popularly known as WORK FROM HOME is proved to be working for Cricket too, not fixed to a particular field like IT. The live game that took place at Centurion Park in South Africa on Nelson Mandela day (18th of July) covered commentary from India.

With the match running elsewhere, Indian former players Irfan Pathan from his Baroda home, Deep Dasgupta from Kolkata, and Sanjay Manjrekar at his Mumbai residence made their commentary for the Centurion match. This turned out to be a success for the 36-over exhibition game. Similarly, the same commentary process is under review for the upcoming IPL tour.
