Chennai Super Kings had said that the team will start training from Friday

The lockdown since March 25 amid coronavirus pandemic has led to doubts on Indian Premier League (IPL) this year. The disastrous situation around the world has been impacting postponing of sports activities. But the centre has announced to open stadiums and can start tournaments, under a rule of empty stadiums.

In view of lockdown 4.0 that’s announced on May 17 that continues until May 31, Indian government has altered some rules related to different aspects. One of the relaxed rules is the opening of stadiums with the fact that crowded stadiums might be a cause of virus spread, hence a complete lockdown is not yet lifted.

So IPL 2020 might be taking place later this year with mixed thoughts from franchises, coaches, and players coming in related to the delayed IPL tournament. Few franchises say that the empty stadiums might not be a proper encouragement for the players in a huge tournament like IPL while few others predict that IPL may likely take place only if there’s a chance of World Cup 2020 (WC) postponement, so as to schedule the IPL13 season in place of WC.
